Anticipation
This is exciting! I have wanted an orange ginger lily for as long as I can remember. I tried growing it in Alabama and never got a bloom. I do have a white ginger ( Hedychium spicatum ) that has had a few blooms. A few years ago, someone told me that 'Tara' is the only one that will reliably bloom here. I don't know if that it true but I finally got one this year (thank you Dancing Oaks!). Planted in April next to our South foundation and giving it ample water, I can't believe it looks like it might bloom. I'm holding my breath... Text and photos by Phillip Oliver, Dirt Therapy
Get that lady a shawl, preferably not made of snow.
ReplyDeleteOh Lord, her arms done froze off.
ReplyDeleteBit nippy out isn't it. Bring on spring.
ReplyDeleteSorry Phillip...I'm getting a little impatient!!!
ReplyDeleteAnd I'm going to agree with Lisa! And wouldnt a shawl on her make for a great photo in the snow!!
Here's another one...
ReplyDeleteThat is a horrible case of frostbite!
I can hardly wait til Spring. I hear there is more snow on the way. BooHoo!
Lovely photo...and yes...we're almost there...spring is just around the corner...right?!?
ReplyDeleteme, too, Phillip! ps there's an SOS in word verification!
ReplyDeleteI'd say she looks a little chilly.
ReplyDeleteIt was nice getting out last Saturday with my tractor hauling mulch to my daylilies and cleaning up fallen limbs. 72 degrees really felt warm, even the dogs were panting from the heat. My daffodils are coming up. Mom next door has one with a bloom on it. Getting close. Mary
ReplyDeleteNeat photo captions. Here's mine. Hmm, maybe it's too early to go skinny dipping! LOL Spring is coming though if we can tough it out in Feb. It's already the 5th.
