Upcoming Plant Sales

There will be FOUR events in the next few weeks, so mark your calendars and be sure to stop by one (or all!) of them. All proceeds help benefit our local schools. Each of the sales will offer native plants (note that some are not on the Portland Plant List). Please see below for more details about each sale! Fort Vancouver High School Plant Sale: Wednesday, April 24, 8am-6pm, Thursday, April 25, 8am-5pm and Friday, April 26, 8am-4pm Native plants available: Trees:  Cascara, Oregon White Oak, Vine Maple, Douglas Fir, Western Hemlock, Western Red Cedar;  Shrubs:  Mock Orange, Flowering Red Currant, Red Twig Dogwood, Cascade Oregon Grape, Baldhip Rose, Nootka Rose, Douglas Spirea, Thimbleberry , Serviceberry, Red Elderberry, Blue Elderberry, Black Hawthorn, Salmonberry, Golden Currant, Smooth Sumac, Salal;  Groundcovers : Western Yarrow, Wild Ginger, Sword Fern, Goldenrod, Blue-Eyed Grass, Soft Fruited Bulrush, Tufted Hair Grass, Oregon Sunshine, Maidenhair Fern, Checkermallow, Sedum Spat

The hydrangeas are really looking good this year! So far (knock wood) we have had sufficient rainfall and I sure hope it continues. (Click on photos for larger images)

  6. Every time I see a posting entitled Hydrangeas I have to go check them out. LOL! Your garden is spectacular. The hydrangeas are beautiful. I adore the Bluebird lacecap.

  8. Philip, how lovely, lovely! Believe it or not, my Limelight and Pinkie Winkie are not blooming yet. My variegated lacecap has a few flowers. Just a couple of flowers on the mopheads. Wonder why that is. Yours are definitely older than mine. Maybe that's it.

  10. Your hydrangeas are beautiful; I will always be a fan of Oak-leaved hydrangea but your white 'Madame' and the blue lacecape are wonderful are making me a convert.

  15. They filled out very nicely since my visit, just stunning. My oakleafs are starting to open. Had some damage from last night storm. Hope everyone will overlook it (and the weed filled beds) at my open garden Saturday. Mary
