The 2024 Garden Year

January 19, 2024 January Our year started with snow, ice and frigid temperatures in mid-January. Our temperatures stayed below freezing for almost a week. I think it was the most consistent cold that we've experienced since moving here. Fortunately, it was a dry snow so there wasn't too much damage. Once again, we almost lost the azara and I'm afraid there would have been some breakage if I had not kept knocking the ice off. Coldwater Nursery Open House - May 4-5

If you haven't been to Coldwater Nursery yet then this weekend would be a good time to go. I was very impressed with their stunning displays of plants, hanging baskets and window boxes. They have a nice selection of shrubs and trees in the outside garden center and the greenhouse is full of colorful annuals. You can tell that the plants are well cared for and I've had good luck with everything I've bought from them in the past.

Here are the details about their Open House this weekend:

Location: 1001 Koonce St. (Behind Dale's Restaurant)
When: Saturday, May 4 from 8 - 6 pm
Sunday, May 5 from 1 - 5pm

Door prizes - Hamburgers & Hot Dogs (Sat. only) - Specials - Door Prizes
