Home Again - Hello Roses

'Crown Princess Margarita' I'm back home after a three week garden tour of the Cornwall region of England. It was phenomenal and I'll be sharing photos from the trip later. I got back home to an explosion of growth and bloom in our garden. I was grateful that we received some rain and so was Michael, who didn't have to do a great deal of watering. This is my favorite time of year when the garden bursts into bloom and everything is fresh and unblemished. The roses are especially a treat right now.  'Cornelia' 'Lady Emma Hamitlon' 'Lamarque' 'Marchesa Boccella' 'Mutabilis' 'Playboy' 'Purple Pavement' 'Radway Sunrise' 'Darcey Bussell' 'Golden Celebration' 'The Impressionist' 'Lady of Shallot' 'Buff Beauty' 'Julia Child' & 'The Impressionist' 'Sunny Eleganza' 'Tess of the D'Urbervilles' Text and photos by Phillip Oliver, Dirt T...

Frosty Morn

Woke up to 27 degrees and a heavy frost. It has turned out to be a pretty sunny day with a high of 45. Except for stepping out briefly to get some photos, I've not been motivated to go out.

  2. Nice photos, Phillip. It was about 10 degrees warmer at mid-day here but cold by our standards so I also spent most of the day indoors too.

lol at first I thought you left the house to get multiple injections (shots). I was worried for you. Hope you’re well 😊

  4. Yes, 17 this morning and not expected to get above freezing today. This winter has been full of nights below freezing but this is the worst so far.

  5. Beautiful frosty photos. I completely agree, that's too cold to want to be outside for very long.

  6. That first photo is gorgeous. The pot is an extention of the plant.

  7. Seeing hoarfrost in the garden is a favorite winter view for me. No luck yet this winter, but I’m grateful that we’ve had snow.
