Savill Garden (Windsor, England)

The Savill Garden is named after its creator, Eric Savill (he became "Sir Eric Savill" in 1955). He was appointed Deputy Surveyor of Windsor Park in 1931 and began the garden shortly after that for King George V and Queen Mary.

The garden comprises 35 acres, and done in a naturalistic style, with winding pathways that meander through woodland areas, perennial borders, forests of oak trees, streams, ponds and water gardens.

A beautiful place for a long stroll. I'd be there every day if I had a park like that nearby.

My last comment on Crispin I think got lost in nowhere land. This is incredibly peaceful, I love that rocked raised bed area. Feels like a practical crevice garden. It's unbelievable how many gardens you got to visit on this tour!

The first few photos have a very PNW feel to them.
If only you'd encountered a few royals on the path...

I got it and responded to it, although Blogger is putting my replies as an independent entry rather than below the original. It seems like there is always something going wrong with that platform lately.
