Windsor England
My 11 hour flight landed today (Sunday morning) around 9:30 am. Right off the bat, I discovered that there is not a train from London to Windsor. That left me with either the option of a taxi or bus. I am still an amateur at all this (Lois Moss, where are you!). Despite the expense, I took the easiest option- a taxi. The 20 mile ride cost me 60 pounds!
Arrived at the hotel too early to check in, but they did hold my luggage. It was hot and I was overdressed to walk around too much. I spent a lot of time reading on a shaded bench in a charming little garden in front of the hotel. The hotel is the Christopher Wren. He has great historical interest, but there isn’t time to research.
After finally getting checked in around 2pm, the day improved. After taking a much needed nap, I went to the welcome dinner. I had cauliflower soup, lemon chicken and brownie. After dinner, I took a walk and took photos.
Tomorrow, Windsor Castle (which is right next door to the hotel) and Saville Garden.
