A Visit to Cistus Nursery
I rarely go to nurseries anymore since I work part-time at one and another reason being that I don't have much room for additional plants. When a garden fanatic runs out of room, the brain goes into overdrive, dreaming up ingenious ways to incorporate more plants. And another thing happens - a burning desire to obtain rare and unique plants. I've been moving plants around, a tricky process that has a domino effect. A plant is unhappy - it is getting too much shade or perhaps too much sun. There is a plant that did not get as large as you thought it would or it is just a slow grower and now it is hopelessly hidden behind a taller plant. Sometimes a plant is just a dud for reasons unknown (Rhododendron 'Golden Gate' anyone?). I find the plant in question a better home, but it means that another plant will have to be moved. And the merry-go-round continues to turn... However, for those plants that are to be discarded, a space opens up for a new one! I decided to move a Mou...
Caught in the act!
ReplyDeleteGlad to see my cat isn't the only one who does that...even after I put a basket with a pillow in it for her to sleep in. Darn cat!
ReplyDeleteCould very well be the reason. Amazing if anything would survive and thrive with a cat lying on it. Good luck with your containers.
ReplyDeleteOh my! How kind of you to allow her/he to continue sleeping. I have several of my neighbor's cats enjoying my garden as well..including my birds..
ReplyDeleteGood luck!
Keeps the birds from nesting in your containers!
ReplyDeleteOh, that kitty is precious! You just need to teach him not to jump on other containers.
ReplyDeleteOhai! Ya put it here fer me didja? Tanks.
ReplyDeleteHe is so cute!
ReplyDeleteOh yes! You are growing the wonderful fur plant! I have a few of them!DL
ReplyDeleteActually, I think your containers are doing very well as a cozy nap space! :o)
ReplyDeleteYou may have solved the mystery!
ReplyDeleteTime to grow a pot of Catnip!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteLoafing.
ReplyDeleteSee how clever kitty is, searching out the higher soil temperatures in the pot to kip, and elevated too - perfect.
Oh my goodness. That may explain my pot difficulties as well. Such a sweet kitty, how can you disturb her? :)
ReplyDeleteThe cat says 'well this is the perfect size to cozy up in'. No plants can stand up to that. LOL.
ReplyDeleteSuch a fine kitty specimen..."anyone" can grow an ole flower...LOL
ReplyDeleteTough decisions happen every day in the garden. No doubt if you put one there for kitty, he would choose the planted one.
ReplyDeleteShe looks adorable, that is if she/he doesn't poop in the pot! ;)
