It's snowing!

A rare event in my neck of the woods and we all go nuts. It started around 2pm and was still coming down at 5pm. Most of it is melting though. I managed to take a few shots when I got home from work before it got too dark. You can't see it falling in the photos - how do you photograph falling snow?

It snowed here all afternoon but it was 42 so nothing stuck. :(

A rare event indeed, Phillip. I was ten before I saw a real snowfall in Alabama. I am amused by the story of a little girl in Florida upon seeing her first snowfall. " Look, Mommy, the rain has popped ! "

This morning's paper shows rainfall in the deep South. Have you had any significant coverage ?

My compliments on your beautiful garden. Mine is currently under about a foot and a half of snow. It will stay that way most likely till sometime in March or April. I was interested to see that you are taking a Master Gardner's course. I start mine tomorrow for Northern gardening.

You have some great bones to your garden that makes it look inviting even in winter. Wish I could send you some more snow we have had our share up here. Just got 4 inches a couple of days ago and a dusting on top of that today. Tomorrow moring in will get to 2 below zero. Burrrrrr!!

Wasn't the snow just wonderful? In the South is brings out the kid in every adult. Ours came down hard for a little while, but was gone in just a few hours.

Nice shots of your snowfall. We got a dusting over here in Vicksburg, MS, but it melted soon as it hit the ground. It was fun to see and realize that the rare event brings out the hidden kid within us all. Best regards,

You like me, had a rare and wonderful sight down here in the South. I ended up having to do a short video of it to catch the flakes. You are right it is difficult to catch it on the camera.
