Everybody is talking about our weather... or rather, the lack of weather. It is lovely this week and the prediction for the entire week - sun, no rain, and temperatures in the 50s.
There are other flowers if you look closely. The manzanitas are wonderful early-blooming shrubs. 'Sunset', at our driveway entrance, has put on a lot of growth. I have a difficult time photographing the flowers, but they are there...
So far, I think we've had two nights just below freezing. This semi-evergreen tree is Sycoparrotia semidecidua, a cross between Chinese fighazel (Sycopsis sinensis) and Parrotia persica, was already defoliated this time last year. Today, lots of leaves left and gleaming with backlighting from the sunshine -
